Job description
We are looking for a highly skilled Hardware Project Manager / Detailer to lead and manage hardware projects from conception to completion. The Hardware Project Manager / Detailer responsibilities include initiating and planning projects, coordinating team members, ensuring project progress and successful completion. Our ideal candidates are familiar with hardware design, development, and testing, as well as project management practices. Ultimately, the role of the Hardware Project Manager / Detailer is to ensure that all hardware projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget.

Duties and Responsibilities
Hardware Project Manager / Detailers are responsible for managing and overseeing the development of hardware products. They ensure the successful execution of projects on time, within budget, and according to set specifications.

  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management.
  • Develop project plans and schedules, and effectively communicate project expectations to team members.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Plan, schedule, and track project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
  • Manage changes in project scope pricing, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Ensure that hardware projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.
  • Conduct project closeout and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Oversee the procurement of hardware materials and equipment.
  • Coordinate with engineers and technicians, per specifications to ensure the feasibility of a hardware design.
  • Ensure hardware systems are correctly installed and work properly.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of all project activity, including significant milestones, and any conditions which would affect project cost or schedule to management.
  • Develop detailed project plans and manage all implementation processes.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the execution of projects.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
  • Conduct site visits and participate in meetings as necessary, such as keying meetings.
  • Manage multiple tasks and projects effectively while adhering to project-specific timelines.
  • Adapt to new software tools as the company evolves and the industry progresses.
  • Proficient in utilizing manufacturer catalog sheets to support door and hardware products that are being detailed.
  • Assemble and review submittals, schedules, and specifications to support the client’s project expectations.

Qualifications

  • • Proven working experience as a project manager in the Division 8 Commercial door and
    hardware sector.
    • Excellent knowledge of hardware design and development.
    • Familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Pro-Tech Titan a plus.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
    • Education: High School Diploma required; college degree preferred.
    • Experience: 3 years in the commercial door and hardware sector is preferred, but not required. The right candidate can be trained.
    • Capacity to work both independently and in team settings.
